Skynum has released a major update that strengthens the system’s capabilities for production, sales, documents, security, and the daily operations of a business. We added new tools for manufacturing companies, improved shipment workflows, enhanced account protection, and updated the handling of print forms and documents.
This update is important for companies that use an ERP system for manufacturing, trade, warehouse operations, and process management. The new features help businesses plan production more accurately, control inventory better, work with access rights more securely, and prepare documents more conveniently.
Material reservation in production
Skynum now includes material reservation in production. The system now takes into account that part of the raw materials has already been reserved for production needs, which significantly improves planning quality.
Thanks to this, businesses get a more accurate picture of available inventory, reduce the risk of mistakes in production supply, and avoid situations where the same material is mistakenly considered available for several tasks at once. For a manufacturing ERP system, this is one of the core capabilities that directly affects planning accuracy and process control.
Technological process in production
We created a new capability for manufacturing companies — the technological process in production. You can now add a technological process with production stages to a bill of materials or technological card.
Each stage can include a detailed description in the editor, a neatly formatted instruction, and selected materials from the technological card that are used specifically at that stage. As a result, a company can print an operational sheet and send it to the workshop as a ready-to-use manufacturing instruction.
This means that the technological card in the ERP system becomes not only a tool for raw material inventory accounting, but also a practical working tool for organizing the production process, passing tasks to the workshop, and standardizing manufacturing operations.
Multiple sales from one customer order
Another important update is the ability to create multiple sales from one customer order. This is useful for companies where shipments are made in parts: as goods become ready, in separate batches, or in several stages.
The system now supports real business scenarios better. A customer order no longer has to end with a single sale document — it can be fulfilled flexibly, according to the actual logic of supply and shipment.
Security: two-factor authentication, password strength, and API token
We strengthened system security in several areas at once.
First, Skynum now supports two-factor authentication. It can be enabled optionally by the user, but we recommend using it for better protection of the account and company data access.
Second, when creating or changing a password, the system now shows a password strength indicator. This helps users immediately see whether a password is weak or strong and improves the overall level of security.
Third, for integrations, we moved away from sharing login and password credentials. Now you can generate a permanent API token in the user profile and use it to connect external services or grant access to integrators. This is a more modern and secure approach to working with the API.
Even more production capabilities: MRP and cost card recalculation
We also updated the report for material requirements planning (MRP). It now takes production reservations into account and provides more accurate information for planning production supply.
In addition, the report now includes extra important fields that help businesses better control the situation with raw materials and production requirements.
Another new feature is the recalculation of cost cards. The system pulls the latest prices from product cards and helps keep the calculated production cost up to date. This is useful for companies that regularly review production calculations and want to update costing faster without manual work.
Additional improvements in Skynum
Along with the major changes, the system also received other useful updates:
- strikethrough pricing on price tags — for promotions and discounts, so customers can immediately see the old and new price;
- updated design of system print forms — they now look cleaner, more modern, and more visually appealing;
- a new print form “Invoice”;
- the support chat on mobile is now hidden at the top and no longer gets in the way;
- only unfinished items are copied from a supplier order to a receipt document;
- a line number for item rows in documents has been added;
- a setting for the width of the product name column in documents has been added;
- a sound signal in product scanning mode has been added — especially useful during stocktaking when items are scanned one after another with a Bluetooth scanner.
Skynum continues to evolve as a modern ERP system for business
We develop Skynum as an ERP system for manufacturing, trade, warehouse operations, documents, and business process management. It is important to us that the system does not simply keep records, but actually helps companies work faster, more accurately, and more securely.
This update is another step in the development of Skynum as a modern tool for Ukrainian businesses, combining production accounting, MRP, sales, warehouse operations, print forms, security, and integrations in one system.
We continue to develop Skynum so that it remains a powerful and convenient tool for modern business operations.
